Guwahati, known for its variety of food, has a lot to offer, but it is quite hard to find a good restaurant serving delectable Shahi Paneer in the city. So to help you with this, we have listed out five restaurants that serve the best Shahi Paneer in the area.
1. Missisippi Basin Restaurant
Located in Ganeshguri, the Missisippi Basin is a hidden gem. You have to follow a small staircase to the restaurant, just next to the old Dispur Dhaba bus stop. Their Shahi Paneer is just “wow”. Take a plate of pulao with it, and you will be more than just full.

2. The 6th Mile Cafe
Located in Six Mile, the 6th Mile Cafe is known for its malai momo platter, but the Shahi Paneer is something considered out of the world. However, they do not serve pulao, so the best way for you to have that plate of paneer is with rice thali or butter naan. You can also have the chef’s special paneer dry fry with the platter.

3. Karim’s
To be honest, the tastiest and best Shahi Paneer is served at Karim’s, but we had to put it in third place on the list because of the price. A plate of Shahi Paneer here would cost you Rs 420. Not many people could afford it, so we had to list it on three. However, the paneer here goes best with their butter naan (roghini) or their garlic naan.

4. The Dhaba
Located in Silpukhuri, the Dhaba is a landmark restaurant. Has been serving the best food for years. The Shahi Paneer here is quite decent and goes best with their vegetable pulao. The quantity is also quite great. The only issue you might find here is getting a parking space, as the route is quite busy. Nevertheless, the Dhaba is simply great.

5. Dilkush Punjabi Dhaba
Let us be stereotypical and say it loudly: Punjabis cook the best paneer, and a Punjabi dhaba serves it even better. Dilkush is among the very few places in Guwahati that never disappoint. This place, located right next to the Guwahati Railway Station in Paltan Bazar, serves some awesome dishes. If it is 2 a.m. at night and there are not many options, drive to Dilkush and have a hearty meal. We had to list it at the bottom because it is in Paltan Bazar and it is not easy for one to get there due to the traffic issues in the city.
