Witcher 3 is filled with grey characters; however some characters can be truly despicable. Let us look at some of the most despicable characters in Witcher 3.
Some people think monsters are the worst thing haunting the Continent. But anyone who’s spent more than a few hours in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt knows the real evil doesn’t always have fangs. It talks, smiles, and drinks expensive wine while ruining lives. The game is full of characters who are morally grey, but a few despicable characters in Witcher 3 stand out like rot. These are the ones who remind us why Geralt carries two swords- one for beasts and one for such humans who truly deserve it.

7. Olgierd von Everec
The handsome nobleman is the character around whom the Hearts of Stone DLC is based on. He comes with a poet’s tongue and a corpse for a heart. Olgierd is tragedy wearing perfume; killing his own brother, shattering Iris’s life, and selling his soul to Gaunter O’Dimm simply because he wanted to prove himself, especially to his parents-in-law. They saw him as a poor, unworthy husband who could never give their daughter the life she deserved, and that kind of treatment and humiliation drove him to desperation.
Olgierd von Everic eventually gained wealth, influence, and even immortality, but lost everything that made him human. After selling his soul, Olgierd lives a hollow life, unable to feel joy, love, or grief. That’s what makes him not just despicable, but also one of the most tragic characters in Witcher 3. Even his remorse feels theatrical, like he’s watching his own misery for entertainment. Stylish? Yes. Rotten inside? Occassionally. Sympathetic? Absolutely.

6. Horst Borsodi
Next on our list of the most despicable characters in Witcher 3 is Horst Borsodi. Horst doesn’t get blood on his hands; he pays others to do it for him. The face of greed and arrogance in the Witcher 3 world, he’s the kind of man who’d sell his brother’s soul if it meant a bigger vault. Not only he snatches all of his father’s wealth, but he deprives his brother Ewald of all their inheritance, and he also torments him later on.
He also treats Geralt with comtempt just because he is a “mutant” and throws him out of the auction house. What’s funny is how easily his fancy empire collapses once the Witcher walks in. Beneath the wealth and polish, he’s just another coward with delusions of grandeur making him one of the most despicable characters in Witcher 3.

5. Margrit (Wild at Heart side quest)
In The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Geralt can take a contract from Niellen in the village of Blackbough, a man desperate to find his missing wife, Hanna. During the investigation, Geralt discovers that Niellen is a werewolf and that Hanna’s sister, Margrit, knew it all along.
Driven by lust, obsession, and jealousy, Margrit wanted her sister to see Niellen’s monstrous side, hoping Hanna would abandon him so she could have him for herself. The plan backfires when Niellen transforms and kills his wife in a frenzy. What makes Margrit one of the most despicable characters in Witcher 3 isn’t just that her scheming leads to Hanna’s death, but that she shows no remorse afterward.
She never swings a sword or casts a spell, yet her envy destroys lives as surely as any curse. She’s proof that in The Witcher 3, true monsters are often human.

4. Wh****on Junior aka Cyprian Wiley
Even among criminals, this guy is in a league of his own. Wh****on Junior, whose actual name is Cyprian Wiley is what happens when privilege meets psychopathy. He tortures women, kills out of boredom, and decorates his house with other people’s pain. You can’t even call him clever; just disgusting. He’s like the embodiment of every disease in Novigrad, given a name and a knife.
Not only this, he even goes far to betray the three other big four of Novigrad’s underworld. The Witcher 3 story lets you choose what to do with him, but no matter what you pick, it never feels like enough. Among all despicable characters in Witcher 3, Junior wins the prize merely for his sadism and existence

3. The Crones of Crookback Bog
Among Witcher 3 characters, the Crones are not just despicable, but also among the most terrifying characters in the game. These three ancient witches are so despicable that they will even make your nightmares look cute. The Crones feed on fear, manipulate children, and twist promises into curses. They play gods in a swamp and its surrounding areas, where the gods have long since died. Their “gifts” leave people broken, their “meals” include lost kids, and their faces are the stuff of therapy bills. The Crones of Crookbag Bog are more than just Witcher 3 villains, they’re symbols of what happens when evil stops pretending to be human.

2. Caleb Menge
If hypocrisy and cruetly were a person, it would wear the uniform of the witch hunters. Menge, the leader of the Witcher hunters, hides his cruelty behind the Church of the Eternal Fire, torturing and burning anyone he finds to be “impure.” He claims to serve order, but all he really serves is his own sadism. His faith is nothing more than a convenient excuse to hurt humans, and non-humans.
What makes his death so satisfying for players is the fact that Menge isn’t delusional; he knows exactly what he is. He just doesn’t care. He continues doing what he does, without caring for the consequences.

1. Radovid V
Some say power corrupts. Radovid proves it. He begins as a clever and pragmatic ruler but ends up as a paranoid tyrant obsessed with purging anything he cannot control. Under his orders, mages, alchemists, and healers are hunted, tortured, and burned in the name of the Church of the Eternal Fire. His obsession with purity turns cities like Novigrad into open-air execution grounds, and his once-sharp mind dissolves into madness masked as divine purpose.
What makes Radovid one of the most despicable characters in Witcher 3 is that he believes every act of cruelty is justice. Although from a certain perspective, there is logic behind Radovid’s fear of mages, his actions are extremely cruel and irrational and there is no justification for what he does. He even tries to kill Geralt, if you choose the asassination route, because he doesn’t like Geralt’s “attitude”. Wow.
He watches innocent people die under his rule and feels nothing but pride. He is not insane; he is convinced, and that conviction makes him more terrifying than any monster Geralt has ever faced.

Which one of these Witcher 3 characters do you find the most horrendous?
This list of the most despicable characters in Witcher 3 prove that the real horror isn’t in the beasts Geralt slays, but in the humans he sides for. Every one of these people leaves a trail of rot behind them, a reminder that monsters can be charming, wealthy, or even royal; but they’re still monsters all the same.
