Three foods that you need to avoid after sunset according to Ayurveda

According to Ayurvedic principles, it is quite unhealthy to consume meals after sunset. However, for those of us who are living in cities and metros, it might be a bit impractical to implement a strict no-meal-policy after evening. However, the least we can do is avoid a few certain foods, which can be the hardest for our bodies to digest after sunset. Here, we shall take a look at some of them.

Curd – Curd is undoubtedly one of the most nutritious foods, that is filled with a lot of qualities, which is why is why it is a popular part of many Indian dishes. However, it is best to avoid curd at night, especially, if you are having digestive issues. Since it is rich in fat and in protein, it can be quite difficult to digest curd at night, since at night, the metabolism in our bodies is quite low.

Spicy foods- Spicy foods can cause your digestive system to stimulate, eventually leading to acid reflux, heartburn as well as indigestion. Therefore, make sure to avoid foods such as curries, hot sauces and chili peppers, unless you want to irritate your digestive system!

Caffeinated drinks – Coffee, tea, alcohol or any kind of energy drink should never be consumed too late in the evenings, as they can hamper with your body’s natural sleep cycle. In addition, it might hamper with your body’s natural sleep quality. Now you understand why late night parties can be unhealthy?
